Model backs milk at Highland

MODEL AND television personality Nell McAndrew visited the Royal Highland Show on June 25 to further the Scottish Dairy Marketing Company‘s “The White Stuff, Milk Moustache” campaign.

Ms McAndrew was at Ingliston showground to celebrate the first birthday of the campaign.

Fittingly the birthday champagne was left on ice in favour of milkshakes and smoothies.

Commenting on the celebration Ms McAndrew said: “I‘ve had a great time up here, everyone‘s been lovely.

“I‘m proud to be part of a campaign that is having such a positive effect on people‘s perceptions of milk and is helping to improve general health, especially among kids.”

The campaign, a joint initiative between the Milk Development Council (MDC) and the Scottish Dairy Marketing Company, has been hailed a success in its first year.

Independent research has shown that the campaign message is starting to hit home in Scotland with 71% of Scots kids stating that milk is now a popular drink for kids of their age.

Sandy Wilkie, chairman of the Scottish Dairy Marketing Company said:

“We‘re delighted with the results from the campaign to date. We had high expectations when we launched the campaign last year.

“I think that we have shown that by daring to be different you can start to make an impact.

“Having Nell here at the show has been a great way to mark the campaign‘s first birthday.”
