A MONEY-back guarantee is the latest inducement for growers to use Axis, Dalgetys root growth stimulant, on next seasons cereals.

The pledge, which will be based on measuring the difference between the treated crop and an untreated strip, is a first for the firm, according to arable marketing manager Peter Corbett.

"It is increasingly important to gear input usage to reducing unit cost of production, even if this necessitates an increased investment," he says.

Thirty-seven national trials using the hormone-based product on autumn sown wheat and barley are said to have boosted yield by more than 5% over untreated plots.
