Monsanto to spin off chemical interests

MONSANTO will spin off its chemical interests as a separate stock exchange-listed company on September 1.

The new company will be called Solutia. The ongoing life sciences business will retain the Monsanto name. This takes in the groups biotechnology, herbicide and crop-related interests.
