No records on yield
WHITEWATER POTATOES have started to lift seed potatoes at Tannadice, north of Forfar. They have also finished spring barley and started winter wheat yesterday.
“Spring barley has been mixed. We had to use Roundup to even it up. The yields have been reasonable.” Chalice was harvested earlier and was a bit weathered. He thinks most will make malting grade. Optic has already started to move off the farm, with 1.4-1.5% nitrogen.
He started combining wheat yesterday. Riband and Consort are grown for distilling or feed. “There wont be any record breaking yields.”
“We have been lucky with the weather, with lower than normal moisture. We should finish in 10 days, which is earlier than usual.”
