Non-slip slats are far kinder to hens

LAYING hens and broiler breeders can stand on softer, non-slip Vencomatic slats which are kinder to birds and easier to clean, improving hygiene and welfare, says supplier Sterling Equipment.

The company says the slats are designed for the raised area over the droppings pit, between the scratching area and the nest to avoid build-up of manure at this point.

The interlocking slatted Vencomatic panels are 1.15m by 0.574m (46in by 23in), available in a choice of brown or white.
