Palatable solution

MAXIMISE cattle intakes of low palatability silage with a specially designed liquid feed Palatizer, says animal feed supplier Rumenco.

Palatizer contains molasses, condensed molasses solubles, wheat distillers syrup, natural sweetener and flavouring, and is 22% sucrose, 11.8 ME, 64.5% dry matter and 19% protein on a DM basis.

The company says that offering 0.5 litre/head of Palatizer to increase intakes can achieve similar animal performance to feeding around 1.5kg of concentrates, at lower cost. Most dry concentrates reduce silage intakes, it explains.
