Pig prices continue to rise
By Peter Crichton
THE UK AESA continues to rise and now stands at 92.58p/kg reflecting better EU prices and dearer imports to the UK.
Spot baconer quotes have also improved to touch the 1/kg level despite three short holiday weeks ahead.
Supplies are still estimated to fall below demand on the UK market.
Weaner prices have rallied again over the past week and the Farmers Weekly 30kg spot average is now 33.15 compared with just 18.25 at the start of the year.
