Plan a route to protect health

A BIO-SECURITY plan should be produced with a vet to protect herd health and vets should be able to highlight the cost-benefit of possible changes.

According to Genus Andrew Taylor, this should consider diseases most significant to the herd. It can be a standalone document or part of a herd health plan and it should be written down and agreed by both parties.

The principles of bio-security are applicable to all herds at some level. "For vets, bio-security plans offer an opportunity to redefine their role, moving towards proactive disease prevention."
