Police probe Regan as CPS drops case
THE Crown Prosecution Service dropped its criminal prosecution of Andrew Regan. Regan was accused of theft over his aborted £1.2bn takeover of the Co-operative Wholesale Society (CWS).
The CPS has also dropped cases against Regans partner David Lyons and Allan Green, a former CWS executive.
Its discontinuation of the case is for procedural reasons and to avoid unnecessary court appearances. It means Greater Manchester police will be able to go into the case in greater detail and it will continue its investigations into the affair.
The Serious Fraud Office is also continuing its investigation into Regans
business dealings.
