Pollen beetle alert

OILSEED rape growers are warned to be on the alert for pollen beetle. Before the recent cold snap populations were higher than normal. When the weather warms thresholds could be breached, warns Cyanamid. Conventional winter crops at the critical green-yellow bud stage should be sprayed if 15-20 beetles/plant can be found. For varietal association hybrids such as Synergy, or spring crops, a treatment threshold of 3-5 beetles should be applied, it advises. &#42
