Rakes progress can be assessed in Germany
THIS years Agritechnica event in Germany will provide the launch pad for Krones latest Swadro 8.81 rotary rake.
Sporting two rotors, the rake has an adjustable working width of 7.8-8.8m – sufficient, says Krone, to work with high capacity forage harvesters.
To follow ground contours, each rotor is supported by a castor tandem axle with a long wheelbase, while a swivel linkage is designed to allow the rake to work on uneven and slopping ground.
Each rotor is fitted with 13 tine arms configured to achieve an even sweep of grass at high speeds.
For raking in narrow corners, the rotors can be lifted into a headland turn position, while working width and raking height can be adjusted electronically from the tractor cab.
Before the rotors are folded into the transport position, the tine arms can be removed and stored separately to minimise transport height. *
Two rotors are employed on Krones Swadro 8.81 rake to allow working widths of between 7.8m and 8.8m.
