Recruitment drive for organic co-op

A NEW organic co-op is recruiting livestock producers in the south-west peninsula.

Organic Livestock Farmers of Cornwall and Devon has been set up as an independently run subsidiary of Cornwall Quality Livestock Producers.

Claimed benefits include strong marketing experience, bad debt insurance, prompt payment, shared transport costs and forward pricing.

Chairman Olly Curtis, who farms in Devon, says further benefits could include links with other organic marketing groups, group purchasing of inputs, training, regional branding and marketing store stock.
