Revisor oats break through

BUY-BACK milling contracts for Revisor, the newly Recommended German-bred spring oat (Arable Nov 27), are on offer from Dalgety.

Last seasons experience, when the variety accounted for 75% of the firms spring oat seed sales in Scotland, confirms its acceptance by end users such as Quaker, says Turriff-based Edward Rust. Depending on farm location premiums of up to £5/t over feed wheat are available.

There is enough C1 and C2 seed to supply current anticipated demand, but supplies could get tight, says colleague Tim Kerridge.
