Royal attendance figures up
ATTENDANCE FIGURES for the Royal Show were the best for five years, according to organisers.
A total of 161,410 people passed through the gates during the four-day event held at Stoneleigh in Warks.
Mike Calvert, chief executive of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, said he was delighted the show had been so successfully received.
“Feedback tells is that there were strong farmers numbers attending – from all over the UK and Northern Ireland and further afield,” he said.
Dominque Loral, managing director of show organisers Haymarket Land Events, said livestock numbers were the highest since foot-and-mouth and the quality was superb.
“Features such as the new Dairy Chain, Yes Peas! and non-food crop demonstrations gave food for thought to both the public audience as well as the farming community.”
