Safest choices for winter wheat care

STILL considering sowing winter wheat? For two-thirds of the 18 varieties on the Recommended List the latest safe sowing date (end of Jan) is past.

Savannah, Soissons and provisionally recommended Tanker and Deben should still be safe to sow until mid-February, according to NIAB. Claire and newcomer Option are the only safe choices until the end of the month.
