Shuttleworth to reopen

SHUTTLEWORTH College, Beds, is to be reopened next month, following investment from the trustees and support from University College Writtle, Essex.

The upturn in Shuttleworths fortunes follows a feasibility study by Writtle into the financial viability of the college and how much additional business and training could be encouraged.

Prof Mike Alder, Writtle College principal, said a number of businesses, including the Arable Research Centres, consultants Banks, a veterinary practice and management companies had been attracted to Shuttleworth.

The trustees at Shuttleworth have also signed an agreement with Bedfordshire Training and Enterprise Council, which will enable 85 part-time students to begin studying for national vocational qualifications in agriculture and business in September. &#42
