Sights set on Asia

THE UK has considerable potential for increasing food and agriculture exports to the Far East but it needs to invest more in understanding the needs of the different markets.

Speaking at the Oxford Farming Conference yesterday (Thurs), Paul Davies of the Royal Agricultural College said understanding the changing Asian consumer would be a key to future marketing success.

There were distinct cultural dimensions to doing business in Asia. "These relationships clearly need to be worked on, and invested in, for the future," he said.
