Slow vehicle watch

TRAFFIC police are becoming increasingly aware of agricultural vehicles on the road, particularly slow moving ones which hold up other traffic.

"Slow moving farm vehicles cause other road users to become frustrated and impatient," says Sergeant Vaughan Clarke, of Northants traffic police. "The result could be an accident caused by a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre." Sergeant Clarke says his force will be targeting those who drive in an inconsiderate manner and points out that there is almost always a chance to pull in.

"If there are six or so drivers behind being hampered, then we would expect you to pull in," he warns. "A conviction for this offence carries a maximum fine of £2500 and the possibility of disqualification." &#42
