Sparsholt students in fly-on-the-wall series

STUDENTS preparing for countryside careers are the stars of a new fly-on-the-wall tv series, Flock, Stock and Muddy Wellies.

The eight-part Meridian documentary charts the progress – at work and at play – of five youngsters from Hampshires Sparsholt College.

One of those featuring, Lizzie Dingle, says: "I really enjoyed having the cameras around and itll be good to show everyone what I get up to. But Im really nervous about appearing on tv – theres no chance of looking glamorous when youre up to your knees in mud."

The series will give a useful insight for prospective students in the land-based industries, says Sparsholts marketing and training advisor Claire Slowey. "Weve had so much bad news about agriculture in the last couple of years – this is like a breath of fresh air."

* The show can be enjoyed by viewers across the south east on Tuesdays at 11pm.

Straight from the horses mouth… HND student in Equine Studies, Ben Greenwood, talks about the realities of life at agricultural college.
