CLAIMED to be Europes largest and highest output self-propelled sprayer, the Landquip Field Leader is now being manufactured in Suffolk.
Prototypes are already at work and the first production machines will be available later this summer.
The machine has a 5500 litre tank, boom widths of up to 42m and features a sophisticated air suspension system. Powered by a 155hp engine, it has a four-wheel mechanical drive and four-wheel steering.
It is capable of speeds of up to 50kph, and a prototype operating in potatoes has sprayed at forward speeds of up to 25kph.
Fitted with a 24m boom and a set of conventional and row-crop wheels, the Field Leader will cost £85,000.
The company recently launched its Eurocompact range of mounted sprayers with a new slimline tank, that has a capacity of up to 1000 litres housed in a narrow close-hitch chassis.
Targeted at vegetable growers, the new ranges unique feature is a totally independent left to right hand folding boom. That allows one side to be folded while the other continues spraying. A locking device enables this dual-function to operate without unbalancing the machine and compromising the spray pattern.
The Eurocompact with a 20m boom and 1000 litre tank costs £16,135.
New Leader self-propelled sprayer offers the highest output of any machine available in Europe, claims Suffolk-based maker Landquip.
