Standen Big Boy gets even bigger
NEW versions of Standen Engineerings Big Boy potato planter are now available.
The model 330 – the largest planter the company has produced – plants three standard width rows on 108in beds. It provides growers changing over to a three-row system, says Standen, with a machine capable of low chit damage, controlled feed and cup-belt accuracy.
The second new model – the 360 – is described as an out-and-out bed planter which sets three pairs of rows on an 88in bed. It can also plant three individual rows over the same width at 24in centres.
Both planters can be equipped with axle steering, automatic depth control, space selector, electric agitation, and seed monitor kits. Price of the 330 starts at £13,814 and, for the 360, £13,888.
