Stirrer success down to extra strengthening
Stirrer success down to extra strengthening
A GRAIN stirrer joins the line-up of grain drying and storage systems available from Lincoln-based Welvent.
Available in sizes to suit, says the company, all stores, the system includes the use of a heavy duty beam which enables stores up to 13m (45ft) wide to be equipped.
Paul Gardiner, joint managing director, points out that many stirrers fitted into buildings rely on the strength of the existing main ducts for beam support.
"These are often not strong enough," he says. "We have engineered a strengthening kit to suit most main duct designs which, in some situations, may also allow duct height and storage depth to be increased."
Main beam on the Welvent stirrer is driven electrically by a geared drive while a second motor moves the auger unit across the store. A total of four augers, mounted in pairs, provide the stirring action.n
