Suffolk record in NI – 7500gns

A RECORD Northern Ireland sale price for Suffolks was achieved when bidding reached 7500gns at the sale of stock from the Glarryford and Laurel-bank flocks owned by David Duncan and Sam Coleman, Belfast.

Establishing the new record was Tom Baillies bid for a ewe lamb by Cairness Court out of a Fordafourie Flashdance ewe. The lamb will join the buyers Glenho flock in Co Meath.

A Flash Dance in-lamb gimmer from Laurelbank realised 3200gns to Mr Baillie. She was in lamb to Cairness Carlsberg. And also heading for Glenho was a Flash Dance ewe lamb at 3200gns consigned by Glarryford.

AVERAGES: Laurelbank – 19 ewes £355, 28 gimmers £587 and nine ewe lambs £1505. Glarryford – seven ewes £228 and nine gimmers £362 (United Auctions).
