Tendafrosts plea

FROZEN vegetable supplier Tendafrost Frozen Food is urging farmers to adopt integrated crop management systems now.

The firm says this will pre-empt inevitable pressure from retailers and manufacturers and put them in a more competitive position.

"This is not just a marketing initiative. The environment is an issue which must be addressed by farmers, as a response to industry pressure, but, more importantly, to allay any potential fears of the general public," says the companys Steve Marx.

Tendafrost Frozen Foods processes over 50,000t of vegetable sourced from about 100,000ha (247,000 acres) of land, mainly in the Lincolnshire fens, East Anglia and east Scotland.n
