The HGCA levy

The HGCA levy
FOR every 25-tonne load of grain that leaves the farm, the HGCA takes 40p/t, or 10.
When wheat was over 100/t, these deductions did not seem too unreasonable, although I always wondered where
the money went.
Now, with wheat at 60/t, these charges are too high.
The HGCA produces some useful information, but I think a great many of their glossy pamplets and bumph is unnecessary. We just cannot afford them.
I have been pressing our local NFU to support me in this, but I am not too hopeful about the response from headquarters.
What does anyone else think?
