THIS QUALITY FEEDERS A TOP PRIZE CATCH

Theres a chance to win a £19,500 Taarup diet feeder in our

late summer competition. Just read the text about Taarup

diet feeders each week, answer the question and keep the

answer in a safe place. There will be a chance to fill in the

competition coupon in the Sept 28 issue of farmers weekly

WITH foot-and-mouth disease making it impossible for many farmers to make clamp silage, there was a big surge in wrapped round bale production this spring. Not all diet feeders are happy chopping such bales; one that is well-suited to the job is Kverneland Taarups KD600 diet feeders.

In fact, Taarup, part of the Kverneland Group, has one of the most complete ranges of machines for feeding livestock in the business. From its factory, based at what was the Kidd Farm Machinery factory in Devizes, Wiltshire, Taarup can supply feeders and diet feeders from 8 – 18cu m. Feeders have been built in Devizes since 1967.

A unique feature of all Taarup diet feeders is their use of augers to mix the feed materials. Diet feeding demands that each mouthful for the animal is the same and the superior mix achieved by the use of augers, even on the Taarup paddle type machines, provides an even, homogenous mix with an excellent feed structure.

The feed is mixed thoroughly, without the inclusion of air to the mix, giving an excellent trough life. All

this leads to better feed intake

of a superbly presented diet.

Kverneland offers a range of six KD600 diet feeders, all built in Britain. They range from the 8.5cu m KD608, 10.5cu m KD610,

12cu m KD612, 14cu m KD614, 16cu m KD616 to the top of the range 18cu m KD618.
