Top marks for UKresearch
UK AGRICULTURAL research institutes have performed well in a research assessment exercise.
Of the 22 reviewed in agriculture, food and veterinary sciences, five were awarded the top mark of five points and a further six awarded a mark of four.
The Faculty of Food and Agriculture at the University of Reading scored a 5* rating for Plant Sciences – the highest accolade to be awarded – and its Centre of Dairy Research was one of only three research groups to be flagged for excellence.
Departments at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Edinburgh, and Queens Belfast also scored five.n
