UK considers pesticide tax
THE government is considering imposing a tax on pesticides in an attempt to reduce environmental damage to the countryside and wildlife.
Patricia Hewitt, the Environment Secretary, said the government was exploring the tax system to secure environmental objectives.
She was speaking at a conference on environmental taxation held by the Institute for Public Policy.
