UNIVERSAL Tractors, the business formerly run by Richard Chester based at Riffa Business Park, Pool-in-Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, has gone into receivership.

As of 17 July, the parts stock held at Universals former premises was taken on by Tom Roberts of Rhandir Garage, Colwyn Bay, North Wales.

No stranger to the Romanian tractor marque, Mr Roberts sold his first Universal in 1978 and has been involved in selling spares for the tractor range over the past few years.

"I am looking to get a more comprehensive parts business fully operational before selling new tractors," says Mr Roberts. "Theres little point selling a new tractor if you cant provide the spares and service backup."
