BREEDERS-BY-POST is the latest initiative to minimise the risk of foot-and-mouth transmission.

Staged by national seed supplier George Burlingham & Sons of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, it offers a detailed video presentation of the latest cereal varieties by five of the UKs top breeders.

"Its as near to attending live presentations as we can get without the need for a visit to or from farms," says wholesale seed manager Chris Brown.

Varieties covered are the wheats Option, Tanker, Exsept, Deben and Xi-19, plus barleys Leonie and Sumo.
