At last! – a walking weekend is planned for Oct 12-14 at Barnwell, near Oundle, North-amptonshire.
The weekend is open to all readers and we will be meeting on the Friday evening for dinner and to get to know each other. Walking will start in earnest on Saturday morning.
This is such a beautiful part of the country we have been spoilt for choice over which direction to take but rest assured your guide has the routes planned out.
On Saturday our 11 mile circular walk will take us along the Nene Way and across the River Nene . We will be going through Aldwincle, a delightfully pretty village, where we may stop for refreshments if the going is good. Hopefully we will all arrive back at Barnwell in the late afternoon to have a bit of a rest before dinner at the Montagu Arms.
We will take it a bit easier on Sunday morning probably just walking four or five miles, this time ending up in a hostelry in Oundle. This is such an interesting town to explore if you havent got to dash off home too early.
The cost of the weekend is £95/person which includes:
l Two nights bed and breakfast based on two people sharing
l Dinner at the Montagu Arms, Barnwell on Friday and Saturday
l Guided walks on Saturday and Sunday with a light lunch each day.
