Warning to beet growers

SUGAR beet growers tempted to increase second nitrogen applications due to recent rain should refrain, says IACR-Brooms Barns Mike May.

"Although we had a lot of rain, beet will still catch the seed-bed nitrogen," he says.

Second applications, to reach the British Sugar total recommendations, should be applied as soon as crops are fully emerged. &#42
