Welsh Blacks draw 900gns

RECENTLY travelling from its home near Swansea to be dispersed at Llandovery market as part of the breed society sale was the Pistyll herd of Welsh Black cattle.

And a heifer and calf from the Pistyll consignment of T R and P Morgan topped at 900gns.

Cennen Peggy 26th, an October 1994-bred daughter of Eirog Arthur and bred by J R and D &#42 Francis, was bought by W L Williams and Partner, Bridgend.

Making 880gns was the five-year-old cow Tynndraenen Florrie 25th offered with her Piemontese bull calf at foot. This Cader Ned sired cow was consigned by &#42 and S Lloyd, Llandysul, and sold to T R Williams, Port Talbot.

Judge Emily Jenkins paid 800gns for the heifer Llandre Carol 10th from M V and G M James, Whitland. Bulls sold to 900gns for the champion, Yrallt Woppa from P I Arrowsmith, Llandrindod Wells. Buyer was B W T Lavies, Okehampton, Devon.
