Welsh farming village revived

THE Daily Telegraph reports on the renaissance of a Welsh farming village, which has just won the National Village of the Year competition.

Llanbabarn Fyndydd, near Newtown in mid-Wales, faced decline in 1994 when the village shop closed.

It had no public transport, there was no school and there were no jobs for young people.

It now has a village shop, the pub has re-opened and villagers have begun marketing their own Welsh lamb.
