MSPs debate our Food Miles campaign
Farmers Weekly’s Local Food is Miles Better Campaign is being debated within the Scottish Parliament today (Thursday, 14 September).
A motion tabled by John Scott (Scottish Conservative and Unionist party, Ayr), claimed that the Parliament should support Farmers Weekly’s Local Food is Miles Better campaign as buying locally grown food is an excellent way for consumers to reconnect with farmers and develop a better understanding of where their food comes from.
The campaign is exceeding expectations in raising awarness of an issue important to both farmers and the consumer. The success of the campaign has been in its wide-reaching appeal and its continued impact on policy making within government.
