3500gns top for Swaffham Holstein dispersal

This week’s dispersal of the Swaffham herd of Holsteins hit a high of 3500gns when heifer Swaffham Iron Grey 1312 sold giving 34kg a day. This one, by Boss Iron, calved in January and sold back to Norfolk to join Peter and Ava Barrell’s Gemini herd at East Dereham.

And the Barrells were rolling out the cash again, paying the next best bid of 2900gns for another heifer Swaffham Starr Ivory. By Hilmar CVC Starr, this one sold giving 30kg a day.

Also selling at this money was Pinebreck Starboy Faith, a Roseland-View Black Starboy daughter. In her thrid lactation this one is due again in October to Buckeye and sold to M and A M Bunby, West Wales.

Next top was a 2500gns call for Swaffham Shottle Dora, a heifer due later this summer. She went to John Fisher, Longtown. And Mr Fisher paid 2400gns for a brace of Ladys Manor Wildman daughters too.

Making the same money was Swaffham Lyle May, a Pine-Shelter Lyle Vincer daughter which sold to Andrew Jones, Narbeth.
