Cereals 2010: FarmGem sprayers see ‘over-whelming’ demand

Many will remember British sprayer maker Gem which was bought out by Case IH in the mid-1990s and then mothballed shortly afterwards.

Two of the original company’s directors last year teamed up with Knight Farm Machinery’s Brian Knight to resurrect the machines.

Now re-branded as FarmGem, the majority of the company’s trailed and mounted machines are built by Hungarian firm Farmgep which was making sprayers for the Case IH Gem set-up and continued to do so under its own name.

FarmGem reports to have been overwhelmed by the response to the re-introduction of these machines and at Cereals 2010 launched a range of smaller, lower-spec, mounted machines from a Slovenian manufacturer.
