Amazone adds three more precision drills to its EDX range
Amazone has launched three new mounted versions of its EDX precision air seeder on top of the two it already offers.
Called the EDX 6000-2, EDX 6000-2C and EDX 6000-2FC, they all have a 6m working width. Designed for seasonal outputs from 400-700ha, they are also suitable for operation in smaller sized and awkward-shaped fields, whereas the existing trailed models need large fields.
The Xpress grain singling and placement system gives operational speeds of up to 15kph and Amazone claims these drills should give 30-50% higher outputs than a conventional precision air seeder while maintaining the placement quality.
The new machines have been designed for specific applications. So the EDX 6000-2 is for drilling without under-root fertiliser application, the EDX 6000-2C has a rear-mounted fertiliser hopper for drilling maize with under-root fertiliser application and the EDX 6000-2FC has a front mounted fertiliser hopper.
All can be set for row spacings of 70, 75 or 80cm.
