4000gns Naomi

PEDIGREE Holstein breeders John and Jackie Daubeney dispersed their Four Meads herd to a top price of 4000gns at their Dorchester farm.

Four Meads Prelude Naomi (PIN+£49 and ITEM+£48) is out of a Hanoverhill Jethro cow and gave 9290kg with her second calf. She is due in September to Brabant Star Patron and was bought by Roland Bugler, Bridport, Dorset.

Four Meads Cleitus Emerald (PIN+£73 and ITEM+£73) – out of a Starbuck dam and served in February to Patron – made 2500gns. She also topped 9200kg in her second lactation.

A 9900kg second calver by Logic made 2300gns and another first calver by Leadman with a heifer lactation value of £2387 made 2200gns.

Mr Bugler was in again at 2800gns to take the days highest priced in-calf heifer, the French bred Four Meads Dannix Peppermint.

Averages: 29 cows £1429 and 12 in-calf heifers £1435. (R B Taylor and Sons)
