HFA rates revised upwards
PAYMENT RATES for the 2005 Hill Farm Allowance scheme have been revised upwards.
But although the rates are higher than DEFRA‘s previously published figures for 2005, they are lower than rates paid to hill farmers in 2004.
The total budget for HFA 2005 is £27.2 million.
The payment rates for 2005 are as follows (original published rates in brackets):-
SDA Land | DA Land | Moorland | Common | |
Full rate | £29.78/ha (£24.82) | £16.10/ha (£13.42) | £11.26/ha (£9.39) | £11.26/ha (£9.39) |
Half rate | £14.89/ha (£12.41) | £8.05/ha (£8.05) | £5.63/ha (£4.70) | £5.63/ha (£4.70) |
HFA provides support to hill farmers to compensate them for the disadvantages of upland farming.
