It’s the penultimate day of Farmers Apprentice 2018 bootcamp and the competition is heating up as the girls take on the boys in task 4.
Never has the environment been such an important issue on the agricultural agenda. British farmers are not only producers of our food but also stewards of the land on which it grows.
With this in mind, the teams have been asked to complete an environment assessment of a parcel of Harper Adams farmland.
They will be out in the field surveying the land and, with the help of the Woodland Trust experts, will be drawing up plans for how to improve the overall farming operation, with a particular focus on sustainability.
Good leadership is going to be key in this task, will the latest captains be any more effective at steering their teams?
It’s not just the £10,000 prize up for grabs, there is also the small matter of who will be completing the nasty forfeit we have lined up in this battle of the sexes.
