Skipton dairy trade sees £2000 top call
Trade at yesterday’s monthly dairy sale at Skipton reached a peak of £2000 when Robert Crisp, Calton, sold the pre-sale champion, a Mr Sam sired Holstein heifer to G Abbott and Son, Dacre.
Also selling at this price was another fresh calved heifer from Raymond and Robert Johnson, Felliscliffe, which sold to John Howard, Carleton.
Reserve champion from the pre-sale show was a fresh calved cow from Malcolm and Robert Swires, Beckwithshaw. This one went to Wick Williams, Nantwich.
Selling at £1750 was a fresh calved heifer from Jennings Farmers, while another from the same home sold for £1500. Both went to Mr Williams.
And the Swires were back in the money when they sold at £1700 the second prize winning fresh calved cow to G Abbot and Son.
